I am a visiting PhD student working on the PaNDiv platform. My research focuses on the causes and outcomes of primary plant pathogens, including three sub-projects:

  1. The influence of biotic and abiotic factors on foliar fungal pathogens in grasslands. This experiment aims to investigate the driving factors and relative strengths of climate (temperature and precipitation), soil fertility (soil carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content), growth-defense trade-offs (plant traits), and diversity-disease relationships (dilution effect) on foliar fungal pathogens at large scales.
  2. Does the impact of plant pathogens on community productivity depend on the type of soil-borne pathogen (fungus/oomycete)? This experiment aims to explore whether there are differences in the impact of different types of pathogens (fungi and oomycetes) on productivity, and the relative strengths of climate, soil fertility, and plant communities in affecting plant productivity through their influence on community disease.
  3. Does the impact of plant pathogens on soil seed banks depend on the type of pathogen? This experiment aims to investigate how climate, soil fertility, and plant community structure influence the abundance and richness of soil seed banks through their effects on plant pathogens.
