In my master’s project, we will, for the first time in PaNDiv history, closely examine the legumes present in the field. Although legumes are not included in the experimental setup of the PaNDiv experiment due to their incompatibility with the fast/slow functional trait groups defined in the field, they do occur naturally whenever they are not weeded. This provides exciting opportunities to study them.

The objective of my project is to model PaNDiv’s legumes within the framework of modern coexistence theory. This will enable predictions regarding competition, invasion, and potential impacts on biomass through community reassembly. The project will employ both analytical and experimental approaches, utilizing existing data from 2017 onwards and supplementing it with additional experiments conducted by myself.
