I am conducting my PhD research as part of the OpenRing project, focusing on dendroecological data quality and long-term forest stability. My work involves developing and testing methods to address biases and gaps in large tree-ring datasets, leading to an ecologically representative sampling of long-term forest growth across Europe. This effort aims to create a comprehensive database that integrates newly collected and publicly available data, enabling the exploration of how forest diversity influences growth stability across large spatiotemporal scales. By investigating how forests respond to environmental variability, my research seeks to deepen our understanding of forest ecosystem dynamics, contributing to enhanced biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management strategies in the face of climate change.
