I am currently a master’s student working on a research project about Ecosystem Services provided by Urban Grasslands in the City of Bern. Previously, I worked on designing public and private green spaces using native plants in Argentina. Through my work in environmental education, I tried to emphasize the importance of biodiversity for human well-being, as well as applying participatory approaches that encourage citizens to recognize their role as an integral part of the environment. I also communicate about these topics through a podcast dedicated to the importance of biodiversity called Cohábitat.
I am interested in contributing to the development of more biodiverse cities that bring people closer to nature while supporting nature-based solutions to the current challenges in the context of global warming.
I am particularly curious to know to what extent the different measures applied to foster biodiversity in the city are increasing the provision of Ecosystem Services. This motivated me to develop my current research project with the guidance of my supervisor, Eric Allan, and the whole group of Community Ecology.
